Thoughts on Week 5

This is getting silly. DJ is still undefeated, is racking up bonuses, and has scored 786.55 points (157 avg.). I propose we cancel the league, give DJ the money, and start a new league in week 6….

It was the first round of matches with Bye Weeks, it seemed to affect some more than others. Week 6 shouldn’t be too bad, with only Green Bay and Pittsburgh on Byes. If you’re relying on any players from those teams, you’re in trouble anyways.

Adam was desperately searching for a new QB, after Justin Fields lost the plot in the first four weeks. After making a sketchy trade with Matt (Najee Harris & Joe Burrow for Jordan Love & D’Andre Swift), Adam ended up starting Fields anyways, so what was the point? Fields ended up having what might be a career saving day (saved by DJ Moore, really). Will Burrow ever make it in the lineup? We know Najee Harris won’t…

The Dallas Cowboys got a lot of hype early in the season… The Dallas Cowboys are terrible

The Patriots didn’t get a lot of hype early in the season… The Patriots are terrible

The Bills did not take into account the time-zone difference with playing a London game. Showing up at 1:00 PM for a 9:30 AM game.

Shoutout to the Steelers for beating the Ravens. DJ was at the game, which is probably why they won.

League Updates

Rob took the weekly Highest Score bonus, with 173.45 points. Barely edging out DJ by less than half a point!

DJ takes the lead away from Rob in the Biggest Blowout Bonus, beating Andy by +85.5 points

Adam, Matt and Andy are at risk for Survivor Elimination, all scoring below 100 points. Chris, Jason and DJ are seemingly safe.

Chris was suffering a bad case of lineup regret, but turns out he didn’t even need DJ Moore’s 49 points, thanks to having the fortune of playing Matt this week.

Adam made the hilariously foolish decision to start Najee Harris over Zack Moss. That also did not matter in the end, as he would’ve lost by only 0.1 points, instead of the 28.6….not sure which is worse.

Week 6 is typically when we start to see the league standings really take shape. DJ is cruising, Chris is not far behind. Josh, Adam, Rob and Andy are middle of the pack. Jason and Matt really need to make something happen quick.

This week we see some interesting matchups. Adam plays Chris, a matchup that I’ve dubbed “The Trade Wars”. The Two Tua Teams face off, and the two highest scorers from week 5, DJ and Rob, will battle it out.

Good Luck to everyone in week 6!
