Week 8 was a spooktacular mess, with frights, fights, and fantasy blights aplenty. The graveyard of doomed teams may have become a little more crowded, while a few managers dodged the reaper’s scythe by the skin of their fangs. Get ready for tales of terror and near-miss nightmares.  Let’s dive in… if you dare! 💀

🎃 Bonus Summary 🎃

Weekly High Score Bonus

Adam snatched the weekly $10 prize like an 8-year-old swiping the last Reese’s out of the candy bucket, making it his second week straight and third overall. All this money will go towards buying more Halloween candy, no doubt.

Biggest Blowout Bonus

Nothing to see here, boils and ghouls—Josh’s monstrous +97.65-point blowout from Week 6 remains the stuff of legends. This week’s matchups were all fairly close, more lukewarm cider than blazing inferno.

Win’s a Win Bonus

No tricks or treats here either. Andy’s still hanging onto the Win’s a Win lead by a hair—just enough for a ghastly whisper, but not a real scream.

Survivor

After last week’s close shave, Rob crawled out of his grave with a razor-thin escape, posting a 264.15 aggregate score to out-haunt Andy by a mere 6.35 points. With Andy eliminated, our Final 4 remaining survivors are Adam, Chris, Josh, and Rob—who will dodge the scythe next week?

🕸️ Matchup Summary 🕸️

Tua 3, 4 Concussions (ANDY) vs Puttin’ on the Ritz (ADAM)

This battle was a tug-of-ghoul all week, with both teams missing their star receivers. Andy looked solid with Lamar Jackson’s 25 points, but then Adam hit back harder than a silver bullet with 37 points from Jalen Hurts and a fang-tastic 26 points from De’Von Achane. Alvin Kamara did his best zombie shuffle with 18 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Adam’s bone-chilling score. Adam slithers up to 1st, while Andy remains safe in 4th but will need some black magic to keep the playoff ghouls at bay.

THE Gimpledaumus (JOSH) vs Team Cady (ROB)

A thriller from the first snap to the last. Rob’s been haunting the top spots, hoping to close the Points For gap with a monster score, but Josh summoned his own beastly points from young monsters Jayden Daniels and Kyren Williams. It all came down to Sunday night—Rob trailing by 6 points with Brock Bowers and Najee Harris as his final hope. The final tally was close, but Bowers’ ghostly 10 points pulled Rob over the line, keeping him in 3rd place. Josh lingers on the cusp of playoffs in 5th, ready to pounce if anyone slips into the shadows.

nWo4LIFE (DJ) vs The BIG Show (CHRIS)

DJ’s week ended with a scare he won’t soon forget. Facing the league’s top warlock, Chris, was already a death sentence, but it got worse when DJ left Jauan Jennings’ skeleton in his lineup after he’d been ruled out days prior. With Josh Allen, Josh Jacobs, and George Kittle all summoning 20+ points on The BIG Show’s stage, DJ didn’t stand a ghost of a chance.

Luckily for DJ, no eligible bench player could’ve brought him back from the dead, so he dodges the Farley Rule violation with a warning. DJ, time to stake out a complete lineup—or risk becoming fantasy roadkill.

Trash Panda (JASON) vs Tua-Tang Clan (MATT)

One team rising from the dead, and the other digging itself deeper into the grave. After a hot start, Trash Panda has dropped five in a row, living up to his name more every week. Matt, meanwhile, has risen from his early-season tomb with two wins in his last three. A big win for Tua and the rest of Matt’s gang of ghouls is all the spark he needed, leaving Jason scrambling in his crypt. Jason, might we suggest laying Brandon Aiyuk to rest? That might be the first step out of the graveyard.

🎃🕸️

Week 8 was a real scream, with tricks, treats, and a few devilish decisions that had some teams shaking in their boots. The back half of the season is creeping up, and the stakes are higher than ever. Every lineup decision could be the difference between fantasy heaven and eternal damnation. Onward to Week 9—where fortunes can turn and dreams can be ghosted!
